30 Minutes With the Feedburner Guys at the End of Podcast Expo 2006 - Podcast Tools #40 (Special Edition)

Posted on 8:11 pm by Paul Colligan

In this special edition of the Podcast Tools Weekly Update (#40), Paul Colligan interviews Rick Klau and Eric Olsen of Feedburner during the last minutes of Podcast Expo 2006. The content goes way over the traditional 5 minute cap for Podcast Tools but trust you me this, it is well worth your time. Rick and Eric cover topics ranging from favorite gadgets launched at the show to the Ninja to improving the show for next year. They also open the discussion and want to hear what you have to say.

Please as per this episode, please let us know - what do you need to know? What do you not need to know? Comments are open below …

[…] Podcast Tools #40 is a special epsiode.  I got Eric Olsen and Rick Klau from Feedburner to give me their thoughts on the Expo.  Great content - not just their favorite gadgets but talk about the Ninja, and ‘what do we really need to know’ type questions from a recording made the last half hour of the best Podcast Expo this year. Paul,

Could you list out your settings again? What rates do you record at and what level do you convert to Mp3?

I expect some degredation when a Flash audio file is created for my site, but it seems that I don’t get the same quality in my Mp3 as I record in Audacity. The Mp3 link that I post in Blogger and upload to AudioBlog should be the one that goes to iTunes. My main iTunes feed is straight from AudioBlog. There is a second generated by Feedburner.

Also, I borrowed a Blue Snowball and had a hell of a time getting it to work with my stuff. Crashed my computer repeatedly when I hit record in Audactiy. It would only work with certain recording software. I think I’ll review the other mic’s you’ve talked about. This Snowball’s going home.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Paul!

I just finished listening to this show via the FeedBurner podcast feed. Great show, and I’m going to subscribe to your feed.

[…] First of all - I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The Feedburner family is nicest group of people I’ve ever dealt with (online or off). This simply couldn’t happen to nicer people. Want to experience this love? Podcast Tools #40 has a great interview with two of their VPs after Podcast Expo 2006. […]

from a technical point. Why do you - and many other podcasters do an intro telling me you are doing an interview with so and so then run the recording which starts with the presenter reintroducing the guests. Why not set up the interview with the question you first asked and start with their response. But please don’t start with “…and I began by asking them….” I hate that too.
